Wanting to take your netball to the next level this year?

Both Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) and Queensland Catholic Netball Association (QCNA) registrations for representative netball are now open!

Who can play representative netball?

There are a number of options for age-groups across our Junior, Intermediate and Opens teams to trial for representative netball for either DPNA or QCNA. 

Junior

• DPNA - 10 and 11 Years Kickstart Program
• DPNA - Junior Rep Selection Program (compulsory for anyone wanting to be selected in a team for Junior State Age - 12-14 year olds)
• QCNA - 11s Pre-Representative Teams
• QCNA - Junior State Age Trials (12 - 14 years)

Intermediate

• DPNA - Senior Rep Selection Program (compulsory for anyone wanting to be selected in a team for Junior State Age - 15-17 year olds). Also open to boys in 2022!
• DPNA - Greater Brisbane Netball League trials (16 years team)
• QCNA - Senior State Age Trials (15 - 17 years)
• QCNA - Greater Brisbane Netball League trials (16 years team)

Opens

• DPNA - Greater Brisbane Netball League trials (18s, 23s and Opens teams)
• QCNA - Greater Brisbane Netball League trails (18s, 23s and Opens teams)

Brisbane North Cougars Netball - Programs

DPNA and QCNA are part of the Brisbane North region, meaning players are able to represent the Brisbane North Cougars in even higher representative honours. 

Brisbane North Cougars competes within the Sapphire Series, the semi-professional league feeding into Suncorp Super Netball. BNC also run a number of programs for junior players:

Cougars NetSetGo Program

• Targets players aged 5 - 6 years old (boys and girls), focusing on skills development, teamwork, communication and how to pass and catch
• Sessions are run weekly during the winter season at DPNA, with Cougars Ruby and Sapphire players coaching participants 

Cougar Cubs Program

• Aimed at players aged 12 - 15 years from Cougars associations looking to further develop skills and to connect with players across all 5 associations

Cougar Cats Program

• Program aimed at players aged 15 - 18 years, with the intention to develop players in the Cougars pathway
• Players are exposed to high-level training practices, and are nominated by their association to participate

Cougar Gems Academy

• Program aimed at players aged 15 - 18 years, assisting players to becoming future Cougars
• The program includes sessions from the 'Develop a Diamond' academy program, with participants exposed to high-performance and specialist coaches
